The Governor's Office of Highway Safety has awarded Sandy Springs Police with a renewal of the H.E.A.T. grant for 2012. H.E.A.T. ( Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) allows for the 100% reimbursement of approved federal funds. Sandy Springs Police have utilized the grant since the department's inception in 2006.Sandy Springs Police operate three patrol cars, laser and other in-car equipment. The unit participates in multi-jurisdictional enforcement projects and provides media and educational information to the public.
