“Police officers everywhere have Signature Moments.
We don’t often share, but we always remember.”
Signature Moments Book
Have you ever wished you could drive a police car with the blue lights flashing and the siren blaring? Have you ever wanted to solve a mysterious case? Have you ever wondered about the person behind the badge?
“Signature Moments” is a collection of 81 stories involving 85 Sandy Springs Police Department employees – real police officers re-living their experiences – their “signature moments.”
The Sandy Springs Police Department’s Signature Moments Project began in 2009, and was compiled by SSPD’s own Sergeant Melanie Rowand. It is a compilation of stories and vivid photos that provides readers with a unique insight into the men and women behind the uniform.
Each story signifies the officer’s “signature moment,” representing a rare opportunity to glimpse into the innermost thoughts of police officers as revealed through fascinating cases, intense events, and even some light-hearted stories that will stay with these individuals for the rest of their lives.
By sharing these stories and introducing you to our officers on a personal level, the Sandy Springs Police Department hopes to strengthen its relationship with the community.
All proceeds from the books are tax deductible and donations will go to the Sandy Springs Police Benevolent Fund. The Benevolent Fund is a non-profit 501c3 organization, and operates exclusively for charitable purposes. The Fund exists to foster and enhance the quality of life for members of the Sandy Springs Police Department, SSPD volunteers, Public Safety personnel, First Responders and their family members who are in need of financial support due to unforeseen circumstances or crisis. If you donate to the Fund, your financial assistance will help SSPD employees, as well as non-SSPD public safety employees and their families who have been injured or have given their lives in the line of duty.
