Welcome to Sandy Springs Police Department's North District. The district is composed that area north of Johnson Ferry Road. Captain Keith Zgonc is the commander of the North District. Prior to his present assignment, served as commander of the criminal investigation unit. Prior to joining the Sandy Springs Police Department, he worked with the Smyrna Police Department where he held the rank of Captain.
The North District of Sandy Springs is comprised of four beats in which four squads are assigned to patrol. Two squads work the “day watch” shift and two squads work “evening watch” shift. Each shift is a total of 12 hours. Chances are good that if you’re out and about in your neighborhood you will see the same officers which work the same areas on a daily basis.

In 1992, Officer Katrina Bruce began her law enforcement career with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Police Department. She has worked in a variety of roles and assignments during her 19-year career. She is a Georgia-certified police instructor in several training areas but considers bicycles patrol operations and basic
firearms instruction as her favorite.
Officer Bruce served six years with the Georgia Air National Guard/ 116th Fighter Wing and is a Desert Storm Veteran. She enjoys cycling and running with her two German Shepherd dogs. She credits her most memorable law-enforcement experience to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Her current assignment involves working in the north district and providing liaison and support to the business and residential communities.

Officer Christopher Ellis, Sr. served four years in the United States Navy prior to his law enforcement career. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. He began his career in 2004 with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Police Department. He was assigned to the gang intelligence officer for MARTA Police Departments at the department's east precinct.
He joined the Sandy Springs Police Department in January of 2009. Following time spent in the patrol division, he transferred to the north district where he currently serves as one of the two community coordinators. Outside of police work, he enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and playing golf.

Sergeant Ron Momon joined the Sandy Springs Police following his career with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Police Department. Prior to service with MARTA, he served with the Atlanta Police Department. He joined the SSPD at the department's inception and was part of the July 1, 2006 roll out when SSPD took over police operations from Fulton County Police.
Sergeant Momon directed internal affairs investigations for four years prior to assuming his current duties as community coordinator sergeant for the north district.
