Sandy Springs is the second largest city in the Metro-Atlanta area and sixth largest in Georgia. SSPD employs 127 sworn police officers as well as 14 full time civilian personnel. The Chief of Police is Chief Terry Sult. Second in command is Deputy Chief Kenneth DeSimone.
SSPD operates within two districts. The district line is located north of Johnson Ferry Road extending east from Cobb County at the Chattahoochee River to Glenridge Drive and then north on Hammond Drive to the City of Dunwoody. Each district has a district commander. You can locate the district commander in the side menu under "Patrol Districts."
In 2010, SSPD posted an overall drop in major crimes by just over 10% from the previous year. SSPD posted reductions in five of the eight Part One crime categories.
