Students participate in hands-on demonstrations and learn from the inside what it takes to be a police officer with the SSPD. Each graduating member is eligible to become a member of the Volunteers in Police Services Unit (VIPS) and the SSPD (CPA) Alumni Association. The academy coordinator is Officer Larry Jacobs.
