Welcome to the Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) where the community came together and fought to form a brand new city for the purpose of improving public safety and the quality of life in Sandy Springs, Georgia. To begin operations in July 2006 the SSPD recruited the best law enforcement officers in the Atlanta Metro area of Georgia. Only experienced officers were hired bringing with them both their talent and experience resulting in a highly professional, effective and proficient organization. Having both the talent and the experience combined with tremendous public support the SSPD has worked hand in hand with our citizens to reduce crime and disorder. To date crime is remarkably down throughout the City.

Our mission is "To Prevent Crime and Enforce Law through Problem Solving Partnerships". Our first priority is to prevent crime and thus prevent the victimization of our citizens. When crime does occur we aggressively enforce the law. We take pride in identifying the important crime and disorder problems and then work hard to eliminate or at least mitigate them. The SSPD values partnerships as they increase our operational capacity toward attaining our mission. Creativity is encouraged; new ideas are exploited; proven policing models & practices are utilized and our officers are empowered to find solutions.

Please take a few moments to get to know the SSPD through our web-site. We also invite you to visit our department in person. If you are a citizen of Sandy Springs this is your police department and we are your officers!

Find out why our employees are PROUD to be SSPD!
