Captain Gina V. Hawkins started her law enforcement career with the City of Atlanta Police department where she retired as an Assistant Zone Commander after 18 years. Captain Hawkins understood the cities desire to have excellent public service in theircommunity and believed communities should expect nothing less from ethical
officers, which is why she joined the City of Sandy Springs Police Department
in June 2006 as a Lieutenant. She has worked in every aspect of law enforcement from patrol,
investigations, internal affairs and administrative services. Captain Hawkins is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police hosted by the Police Executive Research Forum, has a Bachelor Degree in Science for Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and she is presently enrolled to complete her Master Degree in Science in Management at Johns Hopkins University.
